We are responsible for vehicle fleet and equipment maintenance, roadway repair, street sign installation and maintenance, storm drainage, heavy and light construction projects, winter maintenance, street-sweeping and right-of-way clearing.
We have 3 full-time mechanics and 8 full-time utility workers. This division maintains 116 miles of adopted Township roads and over 300 cul-de-sacs.
The sweeping program can begin as early as January depending on weather conditions, and continues through June. If there is a heavy winter build-up of anti-skid material on the roads, the program could extend into the summer.
Periodic sweepings are done on as needed basis. Currently, the Township has one street sweeping unit. In 'sweep' mode, it runs at a maximum of three miles per hour. Three or four passes may be required to do a complete job of removing debris.
Issues regarding resurfacing may be directed to Engineering and Environmental Services, 724-776-4806 x 1148. If you encounter an issue regarding fresh road marking paint (vehicle damage) please use the claim form.
