Children's Clerk position now open


PART-TIME 5-15 hours per week, evenings and weekends
Potential for additional hours during summer months
  • Staffs the busy Children’s Room and Circulation Desks 
  • Assists the Children’s Librarian with day-to-day operations of the Children’s Department 
  • Shelve and shelf-read items in the Children’s Department 
  • Book drop check-in on days that the library is closed (some Holidays and Sundays during the summer months)
  • Mondays 3:00-8:00 PM (5 hours) 
  • Alternate Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 OR 10:00 AM to library closing (7 hours) 
  • Alternate Sundays during the school year (3 hours); 
  • Alternate Sunday book drop during the summer (1 hour) 
  • To assist with the high demand required by Summer Reading, additional hours may be added during the summer months

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred 
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Prior experience working with young children strongly preferred 
  • Comfortable enough working with computers in order to assist the public with basic functions 
  • Have or be able to obtain PA Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse Clearance, & FBI Fingerprint Clearance 
$8.25 per hour
